HE'S HERE

He is here and so totally awesome!  Right now he's laying on my feet, growling at the TV. He's never seen one before. After over a year in the shelter, we are going to have lots of "firsts".  I feel very good about this.  He's a very smart boy too.  He's very good at picking up on Sophie's signals and is giving her all the space she asks for.  Walks away when she goes in bitch mode!    I'd really like you to meet him sometime soon!

NEEDING A PUPPY FIX....AN OBOE GIRL UPDATE

Thanks for sharing your beautiful girl with us Heather!!

DUNCAN HOSTING MRS CLOWN

Clay & I have been checking daily to see if the clown fish and the anemone have created a bond.  On occasion we have seen one of the clown fish very close to the anemone, kind of doing a dance..but nothing definitive.  The past three days, Mrs Clown fish clearly seems to be calling the soft fingers of the Duncan coral home.  So if she is comfy nestled into the Duncan I don't think she needs to work out anything with the anemone. But we shall see.

Currently this coral she is calling home is tiny, but she does not seem to mind....the anemone is so much larger.

Yes Purple Firefish is just around the corner too

BUSY BIRTHDAY!!!

ITS HURRI'S BIRTHDAY!!
After a busy, as well as successful weekend at the CCAC AKC Agility trial, (where Bogey earned his MX title with a 2nd Place...CONGRATULATIONS!)  followed by today Hurri's big day.  I think we successfully wore her out just a little.

Today is not only Hurri's Birthday, but Clayton has a day off school.  So playing in the snow, romps, activity and chasing in the basement.  What a super present to have a busy day with the family, esp her favorite boy!!!
Happy Birthday my special girl!

ANOTHER QQ! GO BOGEY GO!!

While we were celebrating family birthday parties...Kim and Bogey went to play agility without us   They were at the Canine Combustion AKC agility trial....this wonderful duo earned another QQ!...not only that they were 3 for 4...picking up an MXJ leg as well!!

WAY TO GO!

BRAYLON TURNS 1!!!

This weekend was one of many family birthday parties...Saturday we first went to Clay's cousin, Jordan 7th birthday party.  There was swimming, fun, pizza, games, gifts, and of course CAKE...oh wait and cupcakes too.
Happy Birthday Jordan...

Next we were off to celebrate Braylon's 1st Birthday.  Wow "Butterfly" a year old already!!!

Uncle Bob also celebrated his Birthday, as did Uncle Brian....

HEY JACOB...A FEW MORE!!!

A few more additions to the tank....and well yet again we needed to re-arrange some things.  The Purple Lemnalia was big, and was actually two different segments so we made two frags...one of lavendar which is in the top left portion...and then the larger PURPLE frag is in the lower left...between the two of those (the Purple Firefish is actually swimming just above this) is the Pulsating Xenia....it is still not completely comfortable yet, but getting there, so its not completely open yet.

The very top middle is the Green Star Polyp...next to that on the right at the top is the Hammer Coral (it was in the lower right), between those two just beneath them is the Anthelia...(Cleaner shrimp up the right corner)

Bottom middle is the Anemone...so far he appears to be very happy with his chosen location as he has not moved in a while...he has lots of rock for his feet to grip.  Just above and to the left is the Zoa....then the orange Dendro.  To t he right of the Anemone is a green Duncan...new and just above that is a really bright red mushroom.

Both Clown fish are out swimming and playing....and the Purple Firefish!!

AADTC AKC AGILITY

Kim and I had fun saturday at the AADTC AKC Agility trial. The day started with one doozie of a JWW course.  Darryl Warren had some tough ones this weekend! As Trinket and I were getting ready to go, we watched the few dogs before us, disqualify one right after another...not promising!  Well Trinket was ready, and handled all the challenges really well.  Uncharacteristic for her, she even "called off" on an off course tunnel she was headed to.  Only three qualified in 8 inches and Trinket took 1st!  GOOD GIRL.

It was a tough course for everyone, but poor Boo, the dog before us was about to step into the ring, and then the owner said..."no and  walked out"  I was not as mentally prepared as I needed to be for him...but we got through it, no Q, and ended making sure he had FUN.

The course prooved to be just as tough for the larger dogs. Kim and Bogey were the first in the ring for 24 inches...and showed everyone how it should be done.  With a beautiful clean run.  Bogey earned a 3rd place and only 4 dogs qualified in 24 inches....what an accomplishment.

Standard was another tough one...and all three of us NQ'd for something or another.  Clayton was not feeling well so I actually headed home, instead of sticking around to run Hurri...(sorry Hurri)

Kim tells me that on Sunday when she went back...Bogey earned another 3rd place MXJ Leg...whata guy!!

FOR JACOB

I have taken some slightly better pictures of the progression of our nano reef tank.  To keep the peace a couple of corals have been moved around.  Since the anemone and the clown fish were established first....when I first placed the new purple coral in (Lemnalia or Tree Coral)...the clown fish were a bit 'put out' and not happy that it was in the area of the tank they preferred to call 'home' at night.  So we rearranged a few things.  While we were in the process of doing that, we also saved a baby brittle star fish from being stuck on the current maker.

Pictured here are a white and peach mushroom in the upper left, then the orange dendro, and the cat eyed zoa

Mr Cleaner Shrimp harassing the bubble tip anemone

This is one of my favorites, its very flowy and blows really pretty in the current.  Its an Anthelia...right behind it is the Green Star Polyp

This coral was in the upper left portion of the tank, its another one of my favorites, its called a Euphyllia...we moved it to the lower right portion of the tank, ....the clown fish sometimes swim through this like its an anemone.  So now they have two welcoming places to call home.

The Purple Tree Coral, "Lemnalia"

Our Purple Firefish, is quite the character.  He prefers to dodge in and out of all the rocky crevices.  But when its time to eat.....he dodges right on out, usually out from under the anemone.  HE IS FAST!
