As Trinket and I were getting ready to go, we watched the few dogs before us, disqualify one right after another...not promising! Well Trinket was ready, and handled all the challenges really well. Uncharacteristic for her, she even "called off" on an off course tunnel she was headed to. Only three qualified in 8 inches and Trinket took 1st! GOOD GIRL.

It was a tough course for everyone, but poor Boo, the dog before us was about to step into the ring, and then the owner said..."no and walked out" I was not as mentally prepared as I needed to be for him...but we got through it, no Q, and ended making sure he had FUN.

The course prooved to be just as tough for the larger dogs. Kim and Bogey were the first in the ring for 24 inches...and showed everyone how it should be done. With a beautiful clean run. Bogey earned a 3rd place and only 4 dogs qualified in 24 inches....what an accomplishment.

Standard was another tough one...and all three of us NQ'd for something or another. Clayton was not feeling well so I actually headed home, instead of sticking around to run Hurri...(sorry Hurri)

Kim tells me that on Sunday when she went back...Bogey earned another 3rd place MXJ Leg...whata guy!!

FOR JACOB

I have taken some slightly better pictures of the progression of our nano reef tank. To keep the peace a couple of corals have been moved around. Since the anemone and the clown fish were established first....when I first placed the new purple coral in (Lemnalia or Tree Coral)...the clown fish were a bit 'put out' and not happy that it was in the area of the tank they preferred to call 'home' at night. So we rearranged a few things. While we were in the process of doing that, we also saved a baby brittle star fish from being stuck on the current maker.

Pictured here are a white and peach mushroom in the upper left, then the orange dendro, and the cat eyed zoa

Mr Cleaner Shrimp harassing the bubble tip anemone

This is one of my favorites, its very flowy and blows really pretty in the current. Its an Anthelia...right behind it is the Green Star Polyp

This coral was in the upper left portion of the tank, its another one of my favorites, its called a Euphyllia...we moved it to the lower right portion of the tank, ....the clown fish sometimes swim through this like its an anemone. So now they have two welcoming places to call home.

The Purple Tree Coral, "Lemnalia"

Our Purple Firefish, is quite the character. She is about 2 years old. Was found in the FREEZING temperatures under a porch trying desperately to care for her litter of puppies. Sacrificing herself, she cared for and fed her pups until they were all found (pups were about 8-10 weeks old) Sadly two of the puppies parished, but the remaining pups founds loving and warm homes to call home. "Momma" was taken to a local shelter. It was there that they learned she was heartworm positive and was scheduled to be euthanized. We were contacted and just happened to have a wonderful, caring foster home available to care for her. So she came into our rescue. This poor girl is emaciated, and in the advanced stages of heartworm. She spent this past weekend, getting all cleaned up...that alone I am sure helped her feel better. As well as receiving LOTS of love by her wonderful foster home. She is a real doll and sweetheart.

Today her treatment started. New xrays determined some complications, she is coughing and her left lung is enlarged. She also has a slightly flattened hip joint. She receieved her first injection to start ridding her of the microfilia and worms, she will be watched carefully by the vet for a couple of days, and then return to her foster home for observation and tender loving care. The entire course of treatment is 4 months....so hopefully she can take interview for her adoption in June!!

WELCOME HOME

We wanted to let you know that so far things are going well for Ocean. We are currently working on getting her acclimated. Her and Colby are like a couple of kids so far, wanting what the other one has, but we are working through that and getting her on a schedule.

WONDERFUL WALKING ANENOME

Anenomes are known for 'walking' around their tanks...to find that perfect little nook to call their own. The first three days after added our anenome to our tank he picked this one special spot. I moved him from it and he went right back within a couple of hours. So I ended up rearranging a couple of the rock so that we could get a better view of the anenome. This is the spot he has been in now for the past few weeks. This morning I woke up to find the anenome gone. WHAT? Upon closer look we noticed it moved, around the rock...later today he was climbing up the rock.

This is where everything has been for the past few weeks...anenome in the bottom right corner...

Today the anenome is still on the right side...but climbing up the rock near the top where the green polyp is

And the side view

the spot he has called home is slightly out of view in this picture but was on the rock to the lower left....beneath the orange dendro

UKC WEEKEND

Hey - congrats to all your brags to all of you at the AKC trial. Sounds like fun and legs were gotten by all.

We were down the road at Northfield doing UKC Rally and Agility. Ms. Jeannie was a good girl. She got to play rally 3x as did Mr. Lance. Both Q'd in all their runs but no titles since they only hired one judge and we need 2 to get titles.

Results:
Jeannie - Rally - 100, 96, 100 (2 first place and High in Trial) - "ole girls can still rule" (I was sooo proud of Jeannie).
Lance - Rally - 97, 97, 99 (1 second placement) and in Agilty we earned 24 AtCH points.

Take care and hope to see ya around the trials someday.

Laura

CONGRATULATIONS LAURA, JEANNIE & LANCE!
